Once again, our wonderful ADCSA Ambassadors travelled to councils across the state to share their inspirational stories with those in attendance at citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day events. Traversing more than 7,000 kilometres, our Ambassadors took part in events in 26 councils, from Coober Pedy to Cleve, to Coorong Council to Grant District Council, as well as numerous metropolitan councils.
One young Ambassador, Kaitlin Purcell, drove 770 kilometres from her home in Roxby Downs to speak at Pinnaroo in the Southern Mallee District Council, then drove the 770 kilometres back again!
Feedback from our Ambassadors shows how much they enjoy the opportunity to share in these occasions: ‘I met so many special people and felt so welcome’; ‘I had a wonderfultime. Our hosts were generous and engaging’; ‘I had a wonderful experience; ‘It was a charmed gig in a greatcommunity’; and ‘I enjoyed every moment. It was a proud and joyful experience.’Council feedback also shows that their events benefit from our Ambassadors’ participation.
Council feedback also shows participation our Ambassadors’. ‘Council and the community are very fortunate to host supportive and enthusiastic Ambassadors who hold our wider SA communities’ interests at heart, and who are prepared to share their time and contribute to Australia Day celebrations each year.’
