Paul Broadbridge is a veterans advocate and community leader whose work has helped strengthen practical support for Australia’s Defence personnel, veterans and their families. 

Paul is the CEO of Australian Partners of Defence, known as APOD, a for-purpose organisation founded by his late fiancée, Rebecca Waller. Together they shared a vision to better support Defence families throughout service life, transition and beyond, while ensuring their service and sacrifice were recognised by the wider community.  

After Rebecca’s passing, Paul continued that mission, building APOD into a national community supporting more than 200,000 members. Through APOD, Defence, veteran and now first responder families can access everyday savings, employment opportunities, community information and wellbeing support. 

Paul’s story is one of service, resilience and legacy. As an Australia Day Ambassador, he shares a message about the importance of community, and why recognising those who serve Australia must be matched with practical support for them and their families.
