Celebrating the Power of Women: An Inspiring Event Not to Be Missed!

The Australia Day Council of South Australia is thrilled to announce the latest chapter in our Inspiring Women Series – “The Inspiring Women Impacting the World and Beyond – Women In Defence.

Join us for an enriching experience where staff and students alike can learn from pioneering women who have carved their paths in defence. This is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to connect with professionals, expand your network, and ignite your career aspirations, whether in defence or any other field.

Meet Our Esteemed Speakers:

  • Jessica Pisani, Executive Director, Strategic Engagement, Office for AUKUS, Department of the Premier and Cabinet: With a career spanning over two decades, Jessica has been at the forefront of defence diplomacy and strategic policy. Her work with AUKUS has been instrumental in shaping the trilateral security pact, fostering an era of unprecedented cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Kate van Hilst, First Assistant Director General SSN Construction, Australian Submarine Agency: Kate’s expertise in submarine construction has positioned her as a leading authority in underwater defence technology. Under her guidance, the SSN program has seen remarkable advancements, reinforcing Australia’s maritime security.
  • Libby Day, Chief Executive Officer, Defence Teaming Centre: As the CEO of the Defence Teaming Centre, Libby has championed the collaboration between defence industries and educational institutions. Her dedication to nurturing talent and innovation has been pivotal in driving the sector’s growth.
