Dylan Alcott AO 2022 Australian of the Year

We were excited to host Dylan Alcott AO, athlete, paralympian, philanthropist, media commentator, advocate and 2022 Australian of the Year as the keynote speaker at the 2022 Australian of the Year Luncheon held on 19 October 2022 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Dylan’s advocacy to ensure more people with a disability are employed across all sectors was a key part of his message.
This highly anticipated event also featured a panel discussion with our 2022 SA Australian of the Year recipients: Professor Helen Marshall AM, Mark Le Messurier, Dr Trudy Lin – 2022 SA Young Australian of the Year and Monique Bareham – 2022 SA Local Hero, Lymphoedema Advocate, conducted by David Washington from Solstice Media – InDaily. Gill Hicks was the extraordinary presenter.
Over 700 people were entertained by amazing performances by the St Mary’s College small jazz ensemble, No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability performed a comedy skit Chef Antonio’s Recipes for Revolution, and Tutti Arts – Thank God Its Friday choir sang their uplifting ‘Strong and Free’ medley.
