Sophie Thomson

Community-focused advocate, media professional, and environmental leader.

Sophie Thomson’s infectious enthusiasm continues to inspire countless people of all ages to put their green thumbs to good use – for the sake of the environment, their families’ enjoyment, and their own wellbeing. The South Australian based media personality has long been beaming into Australian homes through TV and radio, connecting with people nationally at public events and through her own books and social media platforms.

Her belief that gardening is important for health, wellbeing and a harmonious community has seen her working extensively for the last 4 years with the residents of Kangaroo Island following their devastating bushfires. Her current interest is now assisting and facilitating work in flood ravaged communities along the Murray and she has worked with drought affected communities across SA.

Sophie’s work has been recognised through numerous awards …. the most recent being by the Australia Day Council and Office of Women as the recipient of the 2024 South Australian Inspirational Women’s Award. In 2023 she was one of 20 women inducted on the South Australian Women’s Honors Roll, in 2022 she received the Pelzer Environmental Prize and in 2021 she was listed on the Adelaide Advertiser Top 50 Influencers in the SA Environment Sector.
