"The Inspiring Women’s Awards remind us that leadership takes many forms. It is found in classrooms, hospitals, community halls, industries and family homes right across South Australia. South Australia is stronger because of the women who lead with generosity, determination, resilience and vision. These awards are a chance to say thank you to those who so often do this work without seeking recognition and to make sure their contribution is seen and celebrated. I encourage South Australians to nominate women making our state a better place, whether through mentoring young people, advocating for their community or simply showing up for others day after day. I am proud to see the stories told through the Inspiring Women’s Awards and so pleased that through this recognition, other girls and women will be inspired to lead the way."
The Honourable Katrine Hildyard MP, Minister for Women
South Australians are being encouraged to celebrate the incredible women in their communities by nominating them for the 2027 Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award.
Jointly coordinated by the Australia Day Council of South Australia and funded by the Office for Women, the Awards recognise women whose leadership, dedication and achievements are making a meaningful difference across our state.
Whether through volunteering, professional achievements, advocacy, leadership or acts of kindness within their community, the Awards celebrate women of all ages and backgrounds who are making a difference and inspiring others across South Australia.
Presented as part of the Australia Day Awards program, the Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award is awarded by the Minister for Women, the Hon Katrine Hildyard MP, who was herself a recipient of the Award in 2012.
The Awards recognise women across two categories:
- Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award
- Emerging Leader Award (for women aged 16 to 30)
“The Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award celebrates the remarkable contribution women make across our communities and provide an opportunity to shine a light on those whose dedication, leadership and service often happen behind the scenes.
Every day, women across South Australia are creating positive change, strengthening communities and inspiring others through their passion, resilience and commitment to making a difference.
We encourage South Australians to recognise an inspiring woman in their life by nominating someone whose story deserves to be amplified and celebrated.”
