David is an active member of the Nairne Country Fire Service brigade, active at local training and incidents, and then at Region One and State levels supporting incident management when available. Current President of the Nairne District Residents Association, he supports the committee of the Nairne and Districts Netball Club as part of the Nairne Oval Committee and assists on the committee for the Nairne Soldiers Memorial Hall.  

He is an active volunteer who works hard to build the connective tissue between groups, identifying common purposes and helping each other out through the Network 5252 Activities he has led. He is very passionate about all volunteering groups in the township working together to meet each other’s goals. David is part of the leadership team behind much loved community events such as Nairne Twilight markets, Nairne History Month and Nairne Carols. Many long hours have been spent volunteering behind the scenes, applying for grants and managing those events.  David is one of Mount Barker District Council’s key contacts for everything Nairne and meets all challenges with a smile and passion driven from wanting the best for his community.
