ADCSA CEO Jan Chorley welcomed more than 100 CEOs, Board Chairs and leaders from South Australia’s NGO sector to the Annual NGO Luncheon, bringing together leaders for an important conversation about navigating change, leadership and the challenges facing our communities.
This year’s keynote address was delivered by Julie Inman Grant PSM, Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, who shared her expertise and insights into the rapidly evolving digital landscape and what this means for leaders and organisations.
Leading through a changing digital world
As Australia’s eSafety Commissioner and a globally recognised leader in online safety and digital regulation, Julie brought a timely perspective to the challenges emerging as technology continues to transform the way we live, work and connect.
Drawing on her extensive experience across government, technology and regulation, Julie explored the increasing responsibilities facing organisations and their leaders as they navigate online safety, emerging technologies and a digital environment that continues to change at extraordinary pace.
A key takeaway from Julie was that as our digital world continues to evolve, strong leadership must evolve with it. Organisations have an important role to play in creating safer, more respectful online environments and ensuring people remain at the centre of how we respond to technological change.
Her keynote encouraged leaders in the room to consider not only the risks presented by our changing digital landscape, but the responsibility organisations have to anticipate change, protect their communities and lead with confidence.
Resilience and creating impact
Julie was joined by Nedd Brockmann, 2026 Young Australian of the Year, who brought a very different perspective to the conversation through his extraordinary story of endurance, determination and advocacy.
Nedd shared his experiences of pushing beyond perceived limits and using ambitious personal challenges to raise awareness and support for Australians experiencing homelessness.
Together, Julie and Nedd offered two unique perspectives on leadership, resilience, responsibility and the ability to create meaningful change.

The Annual NGO Luncheon provides an important opportunity for CEOs, Board Chairs and leaders from across South Australia’s NGO sector to connect, exchange ideas and strengthen relationships.
With more than 100 guests in attendance, this year’s luncheon created space for valuable conversations about emerging challenges and the role strong leadership can play in building safer, stronger and more connected communities.
