Francene Connor: Marketing & Communications Consultant
Francene has worked in events marketing, communications and fundraising for more than 35 years. She has held key roles at RiAus; the Royal Adelaide Show; and on Adelaide’s bid for the 1998 Commonwealth Games – where she helped to build community support and goodwill. As a consultant she now works with a small number of clients and plans to spend more time on creative pursuits.
A large part of Francene’s career was spent in the tourism sector where she was a Board Director of the South Australian Tourism Commission and the Adelaide Convention & Tourism Authority and was a State and National Tourism Awards judge. Francene served four terms as a Councillor and Alderman on the Adelaide City Council, at a pivotal time for the protection of our City’s heritage and park lands amenity.
Francene is a Fellow of the Governor’s Leadership Foundation and a member of the Leaders Institute of South Australia. She is a Certified Practising Marketer and Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and enjoys mentoring young women leaders. Francene was Patron of Lacrosse South Australia for almost 20 years and became an Australia Day Ambassador in 2008.
